The Opportunity:
The Human Resource Business Partner represents an outstanding opportunity to learn grow as an HR professional and leader. This role presents an opportunity to shape and guide the human resources function at Winpak Films and participate in Winpak wide talent initiatives. As a trusted advisor you will provide strategic counsel to the General Manager and WFI leadership and ensure initiatives align with the OneWinpak human resources strategy by facilitating, “An Exceptional OneWinpak experience – Helping our people succeed professionally and personally”.
In this newly created role, reporting to the Director of Human Resources Flexible Packaging, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) collaborates closely with Centers of Expertise (CoE) Leaders and client groups to drive and support critical HR functions, including safety, performance management, succession planning, compensation, workforce planning, employee relations, and talent acquisition. This role actively partners with client group leaders to shape and execute strategic HR initiatives that engage and retain employees, , and facilitate organizational growth. As a trusted advisor, the HRBP builds strong relationships across functions, contributing to strategic planning and implementing OneWinpak HR principles, policies, and practices. Through effective guidance and collaboration, the HRBP ensures that HR strategies are seamlessly integrated into operations to advance the company’s goals and strengthen workforce satisfaction.
The HRBP is the focal point through which all HR-related matters pertaining to the facility’s operations are channeled. The manner in which the HRBP contributes to Winpak Films’ continued long-term success, profitable growth, and return on invested capital will be commensurate with the best interests of the organization’s shareholders, stakeholders, customers, employees, and the public.
Key Competencies: (Ideal Candidate Specification)
- A consultative, HR generalist experienced in facilitating key HR functions at the operating (facility) level, and in providing effective and responsive HR support and advice to leadership.
- Well-versed in the development, implementation and maintenance of HR practices, processes, and guidelines, ensuring their consistent application and ongoing compliance with local legal, legislative, reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Business acumen, with proven ability in applying a business-case mentality to the HR function including cost/benefit analyses, business drivers, ROI analytics, etc. A performance outcome and metrics (KPIs) management orientation.
- Well-developed leadership and interpersonal skills in effectively engaging a matrixed organization and generating buy-in at all levels and orchestrating change management initiatives.
- Highly client-group focused, outcome-oriented, , and with an self-driven approach in evolving and growing a role from current to future state.
- A collaborative communicator who excels at fostering strong business relationships. Strong communication skills (written, oral, presentation), with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and at varying levels of complexity and detail.
- Adept at working constructively within a management group and capable of representing the organization professionally.
- Experience, credentials, and a leadership ‘presence’ that quickly inspires confidence and that garners trust and respect, internally and externally. The HRBP establishes themselves as the “go to” for leaders on all talent related matters.
- An exceptional ability to juggle a multitude of competing priorities and to keep current on the progress and pain-points of multiple initiatives simultaneously, while continuing to advance each towards successful completion.
- Working knowledge of HRIS and MS Office (ATS, , HRIS, etc.).
Education and Experience:
- University degree and/or college diploma in business administration and/or human resources or a related field, preferred.
- 5 years of progressive human resources leadership experience
Travel:
Minimal; 1-2 trips per year.
