Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Consultant with a financial reporting background in the medical and/or dental sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including 2 years of preparing personal income tax returns in a public accounting setting. This role involves providing expert financial guidance, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Accounting Consultant will play a crucial role in assisting clients with their financial needs, including quarterly payroll tax returns, W-2 year end-prep and account reconciliation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
- Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Provide insights on accrual accounting and double-entry bookkeeping practices.
- Assist clients in managing accounts receivable and ensuring timely collections.
- Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with clients to forecast financial trends and develop strategic plans.
- Educate clients on key financial concepts to enhance their understanding of their financial position.
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance is minimally required. Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- 5 years of proven experience in accounting or finance roles in the medical and/or dental sector.
- 2 years of experience preparing personal income tax returns in a public accounting setting.
- 2 years of experience with financial statement compilations
- 2 years of experience with Payroll and year-end W-2.
- Strong proficiency in Advanced Excel and Ultra Tax.
- Excellent skills in financial report writing and regulatory reporting.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and present findings clearly.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
- Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the Barrington, IL office Mon-Fri. Local candidates only/ No relo.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the US for any employer. No Sponsorships, No Work or Student Visas.
