What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant position at Wisconsin Community Veterinary Center?
Wisconsin Community Veterinary Center (WCVC) is looking for a couple of dedicated individuals who love veterinary medicine and like to work hard. We are looking for people who are dedicated to helping the community access veterinary care regardless of their financial status.
This is a veterinary assistant position that focuses on the patients recovering from surgery. Your responsibilities will include caring for animals that have had surgery, ensuring the wake up safely. You will administer vaccines, subcutaneous fluids and other injections. Additional responsibilities include helping with laundry, washing and preparing surgical packs, nursing care for the animals in the clinic, communicating with clients and other tasks as needed.
The shift we are hiring for is 9 am to 7 pm Monday through Thursday.
The right candidate will have veterinary experience, be willing to work hard, have great communication skills, and be dedicated to our mission of providing quality, affordable, accessible full-service veterinary care to the pets in our community. This job is not for the faint of hearts, it is hard work and at times requires long hours. It is fast paced, and we see a lot of animals and clients every day. There is a lot of work to be done every day. If you like to be busy all day, work hard and continue to learn this is a great fit for you.
Typically, we schedule a 4-day work week and strive to give you a set schedule.
