Responsibilities:
- Check vitals and reconcile medications.
- Enter and update medical history within the EMR (Medent).
- Assist physicians with procedures as needed, under direct supervision.
- Set up procedures for both physicians and nursing staff.
- Communicate relevant information regarding patients and situations to provide individualized care.
- Blood draw coverage as needed
- Stock and clean exam and procedure rooms daily or as needed.
- Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate conduct at all times.
- Maintain the office Code of Conduct and HIPAA policies.
- Maintain OSHA Standards, Infection Control, and Regulated Medical Waste policies.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Proficiency in Medent preferred but not required.
- Degree in medical assisting or 1 year experience working as a medical assistant required.
