What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Tech II - Building Operations - All Shifts position at Woman's Hospital?
Maintenance Techs repair and maintain mechanical, electrical and HVAC equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals and manufacturer's specifications, using hand and power tools and general test instruments. Constructs and installs equipment and fixtures such as motors, compressors, controls, and other parts of mechanical systems according to written or oral instructions. Performs other duties assigned by department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.
Requirements:
- Must have high school education or equivalent.
- Completion of an apprenticeship, trade school or similar program is preferred or equivalent of four years of actual work experience.
- Requires three years experience in maintenance on electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems.
- Must have fundamental knowledge of electricity, mechanics, and metal working.
Responsibilities:
- Surveys plant equipment as assigned to ensure proper, safe and efficient operation. Notifies supervisor of deficiencies within one working day, except for critical equipment for which immediate notification is required.
- Tests equipment and systems to analyze and isolate defects which may cause improper operating conditions. This may involve the use of electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and other instruments.
- Installs new and/or modifies existing equipment or operating systems in accordance with specifications and supervisor's directions.
- Performs construction tasks such as carpentry, mechanical, electrical, finishing, etc. as assigned by supervisor and in accordance with plans, diagrams, codes and other detailed instructions.
- Performs maintenance assignments thoroughly and systematically in order to eliminate the need for "call-back" prior to the next scheduled maintenance check.

All Shifts - Days, Evenings, Nights, & Weekends
Pay Range:
$16.38 - $23.14
Evening differential: $3.25/hour
Night differential: $4.00/hour
Call Pay: $3.96/hour
