Job Summary: The Housekeeping Assistant Supervisor is responsible for ensuring efficient operations of the Housekeeping Department in the absence of the Supervisor, as well as assisting in supervising the entire Housekeeping Department including rooms, public areas, and laundry room in the absence of the Supervisor. The Housekeeping Assistant Supervisor will work alongside the Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure room cleanliness, presentation standards, and deadlines are met.
Daily Operations: The Housekeeping Assistant Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Housekeeping Supervisor with ensuring daily operations are completed as pertaining to the Company standards; the Housekeeping Assistant Supervisor is expected to delegate tasks to Room Attendants and other staff assisting with daily housekeeping duties in the Housekeeping Supervisor’s absence. Daily operational responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
- Monitor and direct all housekeeping personnel in the absence of the Housekeeping Supervisor
- Inspect sleeping and meeting rooms when appropriate and inform Rooms Technician of any issues
- Adjust, if necessary, employee schedules according to the business forecast, payroll budget guidelines and productivity requirements
- Conduct daily briefings with Room Attendants to provide updates on ongoing resort operations and provide room assignments for completion during their shift
- Ensure guest privacy and security
- Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline all housekeeping personnel when necessary
- Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with other managers, employees, and all other departments
- Coordinates availability of rooms with Front Office Manager, Group Services Coordinator, and Operations Manager by utilizing the property management system with room status updates
- Conducts continual inspections of sleeping rooms, meeting rooms, and public areas to determine the resorts overall level of cleanliness; performs follow-ups
- Strives to reduce accidents and/or errors within the department
- Supervises all scheduled rotational and special cleaning programs
- Monitors quality of rooms by conducting and documenting inspections of cleaned sleeping and meeting rooms
- Prepares maintenance work orders in regard to replacement or repair of furniture, fixtures, etc.
- Ensures completion by follow through on work orders, ensures compliance with accident loss prevention programs and health sanitation standards
- Maintain the established key control system for the department
- Understand and Maintain Laundry equipment and educate all staff on proper usage
- Attends to guest calls and requests when needed
- Responsible for following and teaching Standard Operating Procedures
- Promotes positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, honest, friendly, and should be able to address guest requests and issues
- Monitors the responses on customer comment cards and group evaluations, identifies problem areas and formulates solutions
- Responsible for achieving and exceeding guest satisfaction scores
- Other Duties as Assigned
Staff Management & Development: The Housekeeping Assistant Supervisor assists the Housekeeping Supervisor with overseeing and managing a qualified staff and is responsible for keeping a positive morale within the department as well as a good working relationship with other departments. The Housekeeping Assistant Supervisor is responsible for alerting the Housekeeping Supervisor or Operations Manager of any disciplinary issues that need to be addressed in accordance with the disciplinary policies of Western Camps Inc., on other team members. The Housekeeping Assistant Supervisor is expected to bring any issues that are brought to their attention or observed to the attention of the Housekeeping Supervisor or Operations Manager immediately.

Required Experience:
- Must have a high school education or equivalency, Minimum 1-2 years in Hospitality Industry
- Some supervisory experience preferred

- Must be Bilingual (English/ Spanish)

- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary

Typically, the Housekeeping Assistant Supervisor’s schedule varies monthly in addition to overtime required on any particularly busy days that would require this position to be present for the department to operate most efficiently. This position must be willing to work on Holidays when the company requires it.
