The Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities (WCBDD) coordinates services for over 1,000 people with developmental disabilities in Wood County. Our mission is to support, empower, and inspire. Maintenance Worker

- Normal Working Hours: M-F, 8:00am – 4:30pm
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs carpentry work involving maintenance, alteration and/or repair to buildings, equipment and wooden structures (e.g., doors, windows, walls, woodwork, floors, partitions, stairways, furniture, door closures), performs spot roof repair and installs security devices, and locks.
- Performs maintenance, replacement, minor installation and repair of electrical equipment (e.g., light fixtures, electrical outlets, switches, motors, appliances, electrical outlets, switches, motors, appliances, electrical circuits, emergency generator, fire alarms, intercoms, fans, radios, televisions, meters).
- Performs maintenance, replacement, minor installation and repair of plumbing equipment (e.g., water and steam lines, sewer pipes, trap fittings, plumbing fixtures, faucets, toilets, sinks, bathtubs, heating, and air conditioning, piping, drinking fountains).
- Operates machine tools and welding equipment in making repairs to metal parts and equipment; assists in repair and maintenance of interior and exterior maintenance equipment and other specialized equipment.
- Performs routine grounds maintenance and general labor (e.g., removes snow and ice with shovel or powered snow removal equipment; mows, weeds and cleans lawns and flower beds; maintains parking lots; delivers supplies; assists with minor building constructions). Operates all necessary light equipment such as mowers, skid loaders, forklifts, snowplow, and hand power tools etc. Will operate a vehicle in safe and lawful manner while performing work related duties.
- Assists in painting and/or performs minor painting of fixtures, rooms, buildings, signs and equipment; patches plaster and prepares surfaces for painting; assists in masonry work. Performs interior custodial duties upon request (e.g., mops, sweeps, washes walls and windows).
- On continuous basis, inspects buildings and equipment for needed repairs or replacements and performs systematic and routine preventive maintenance of assigned area. Keeps records of work completed, materials and other related documentation. To share 24 hour on-call responsibilities with other designated maintenance personnel.
