At Wood Designs, we see graphic design as visual storytelling that engages, informs, and inspires. A Graphic Designer is a creative professional responsible for developing visually appealing concepts using design software to communicate ideas and information through graphics like logos, advertisements, brochures, packaging, and digital media, by strategically combining elements like typography, color, and imagery to achieve a desired aesthetic and effectively convey a brand message across various platforms. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Develop creative visual concepts for marketing materials, including print and digital advertisements, social media graphics, website design elements, product packaging, and branding materials. 

·       Create visually balanced and engaging layouts using typography, color palettes, and imagery to effectively communicate key information. 

·       Ensure all visual elements align with established brand guidelines and identity. 

·       Master design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and potentially other relevant digital tools to produce high-quality graphics. 

·       Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines

·       Work on a wide range of projects and media, using various software programs to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet business goals

·       Obtain input from managers to ensure that designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the company appropriately

·       Examine existing processes, identify flaws, and create solutions that improve design capabilities

·       Update and maintain internal databases for designs, photography, and video

·       Develop concepts by hand or with software, and execute original content by determining the ideal usage of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout

·       Manage the design and uploading process for all project materials, based on best practices for using a content management system

·       Use trend intelligence and knowledge of historical and current markets when designing and executing specific classifications

·       Graphic designers create visual concepts, using computer software or by hand, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate consumers. They develop the overall layout and production design for applications such as advertisements, brochures, magazines, and reports.

 

Required skills and qualifications

·       Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills

·       Five or more years of experience (academic and professional) with design software, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver

·       Excellent communication and presentation skills

·       Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

·       Ability to complete tasks and achieve goals without constant supervision or assistance from others, demonstrating self-motivation, organization, and taking responsibility for one's own work

·       Desire to continue building a skill set with education and training

·       Three or more years of experience in professional graphic design, preferably with a creative or marketing agency

·       Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript

·       Knowledge of WordPress and content management systems

·       Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing software

·       Strong aesthetic sense and ability to develop innovative design concepts 

·       Thorough understanding of color theory, typography, composition, and visual hierarchy 

·       Effective ability to present design concepts clearly and collaborate with team members 

·       Meticulous focus on ensuring design accuracy and consistency across all deliverables 

·       Flexibility to adapt designs to different mediums and client requirements 

·       Proficiency in relevant design software and digital tool
