Summary:
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, and services necessary for the operation of the organization. They work closely with vendors and internal departments to ensure quality, cost-effective, and timely purchasing decisions in alignment with company goals and inventory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ( Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following)
- Research and evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, service, and reliability.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions, and other procurement documents.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the inventory team to avoid shortages or overstock.
- Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
- Resolve issues related to delivery delays, defective items, or invoice discrepancies.
- Maintain and update supplier information in procurement systems.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with the accounting and logistics departments for smooth flow of procurement and payment processes.
- Analyze market trends to forecast future purchasing needs and potential risks.

Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Certification such as Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) preferred.
- Procurement experience within the millwork industry preferred.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Full-time position, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility in hours is allowed.
- Position may require extended hours or overtime on occasion.
- Regular attendance and punctuality is required.
- Successfully pass a drug screen.
