Job Summary
The People Operations Generalist plays a pivotal role in the People Operations team, reporting to the Associate Director of Employee Experience & Talent. This role will provide operational support to ensure seamless, timely, and effective execution of People Operations systems, processes, programs and policies.
Job Description
Essential Functions & Duties
Employee Relations : support workplace investigations, provide consultation and guidance for corrective performance actions, and ensure and promote compliance with institutional policy and state / federal labor laws
Support Title IX investigations and compliance in regard to equal benefits and opportunities
Administer and provide consultation for performance management, leaves of absence and workers' compensation
Conduct exit interviews with departing employees, gather feedback about their experience, analyze data and report on trends / make recommendations for retention strategies
Maintain documentation, advise on, and communicate changes to policies and procedures
Collaborate with People Ops, Communications, Development and other cross-functional teams to develop, launch and provide ongoing support for an engaging and effective onboarding experience for onsite, hybrid and remote employees alike
Operate as a strategic consultant for department administrators / heads, functional leaders, and other people managers regarding team structure, internal moves / job changes, promotions, and job audits / reclassifications
Support / lead process improvement projects related to people programs, including communication and change management
Collaborate on AA and EEOC compliance and annual reporting
Other adhoc People Operations projects and tasks as assigned
Required Experience & Education
BS / BA degree OR high school diploma / GED and a certification in HR (SHRM, PHR, CHRM / CHRP, etc...)
5 years' experience in fast-paced environment supporting People Operations / Human Resources programs, processes, and policies
Willingness to complete training and / or a certification program for Title IX
Ability to communicate in written and verbal form with employees across all levels and functions
Proven strength in attention to detail
Ability to present / facilitate to large groups of employees across levels and functions.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (or Office online)
Preferred Experience & Education
Experience working in a Title IX program at a public college, university or research institution
Ability to analyze and report on complex data sets, and make strategic improvement recommendations
