Position Summary
This position reports directly to WorkFaith’s Director of Marketing and Community Engagement. The position requires a high degree of proactive problem-solving ability in a fast-paced environment. Develop, plan, and facilitate one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities in a manner that encourages continued community partnership with our mission, vision, and goals.
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for confidential and time-sensitive material. The candidate should rely on their experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. In addition, the candidate needs to have the ability to communicate via phone and email, ensuring that all administrative duties are completed accurately, effectively, and on time.
Responsibilities
· Recruit, onboard, and retain all organization volunteers (350 )
· Implement all in-person and virtual volunteer opportunities.
· Maintain accurate records and track all volunteer hours in the volunteer database, Volgistics.
· Schedule volunteers for specific opportunities and maintain consistent communication with volunteers about scheduling.
· Beginning with the initial contacts, build a strong rapport with volunteers.
· Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports.
· Host weekly Graduation and Practice Interview calls on Zoom.
· Host monthly Prayer Experience calls on Zoom.
· Manage volunteer orientation and ensure volunteers know the mission guidelines and procedures.
· When possible, personally meet and greet volunteers and provide tours of our facilities.
· Assist with the supervision of volunteers participating in special projects/events. Provide clear direction with particular attention to safety and risk management issues.
· Assist with ongoing volunteer appreciation and recognition throughout the year.
· Send a quarterly e-newsletter to all volunteers communicating current events within the organization and current volunteer opportunities.
· Communicate with community/church partners to advertise for specific volunteer opportunities and host events to recruit volunteers.
· Flexibility to travel and provide support when needed at a satellite office.
Competencies
· Must possess intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook with an intermediate level of Information Systems experience, preferred.
· Possess a warm, gracious, and encouraging disposition displayed through verbal and written communication.
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence
· The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to relate to others with compassion, patience, self-control, and the ability to develop a high level of trust with visitors by maintaining confidentiality.
· They must serve as a role model for professional conduct and behavior and maintain an organized yet flexible environment to accommodate interruptions.
Experience and Education
· 1 years of experience in volunteer coordinating and recruitment preferred
· College or equivalent work-related experience
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
