Your Main Responsibilities:
As our HR Manager, your keen attention to detail and strong communication skills will allow you to make a meaningful contribution to our growing company. The ideal candidate will be a team-player to who demonstrates an aptitude for executing company policies, programs, and governing laws in a fair and logical manner.
A typical day will involve the following tasks:
- Manage all personnel matters for the company by spearheading activities including recruitment, employee retention, onboarding, reviews, workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, compliance, and other confidential employee matters.
- Professionally execute all processes falling under the FMLA, ADA, and the Worker's Compensation statutes.
- Develop and implement employee training and development programs aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Enforce compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations (Illinois, Washington, and federal) under the guidance of the company's legal counsel.
- Oversee the timely collection and evaluation of production data, identifying areas for improvement with respect to headcount, overtime, and other production metrics.
- Manage and continue to develop the safety program for the Illinois plant.
- Assist employees with company provided benefits and participating in selecting and negotiating future benefits programs.
- Perform other duties as directed by the company's legal counsel and plant the manager.
About You/Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, operations management, or a related field.
- At least 3 years' experience with people management and/or Human Resources experience/training.
- In depth experience with managing and documenting confidential and sensitive matters.
- Experience following and enforcing employment and legal compliance standards in the workplace, including conducting research and analyzing applicable laws and policies.
- At least 2 years' experience working in a manufacturing, distribution or purchasing environment (preferred)
- Advanced level of comfort working with Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
