Data Manager, Debris Management
Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and results-driven Data Manager to oversee the collection, organization, analysis, and reporting of data related to debris management operations. The Data Manager will play a vital role in ensuring accurate documentation of debris volumes, site operations, costs, and compliance for disaster response and recovery efforts. This position requires strong expertise in data management systems, analytics, and federal and local government guidelines to support efficient and compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Collection and Management:
· Establish and maintain systems for tracking debris collection, transport, processing, and disposal.
· Oversee the integration of Automatic Debris Management Systems (ADMS) and ensure accurate data input and management.
· Consolidate data from multiple sources, including field teams, drones, and contractors.
2. Data Analysis:
· Analyze debris-related data to estimate volumes, types, and operational progress.
· Identify trends, inefficiencies, or challenges in debris management operations.
· Provide actionable insights to optimize collection, storage, and reduction strategies.
3. Reporting and Documentation:
· Prepare detailed reports for reimbursement, including cost analysis, operational metrics, and compliance documentation.
· Generate maps, graphs, and dashboards to visually represent debris data and progress.
· Maintain accurate records to support audits and regulatory reviews.
4. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
· Ensure all data complies with federal government guidelines, local regulations, and organizational policies.
· Conduct regular audits of data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
· Develop and enforce data management protocols and standards.
5. Collaboration and Training:
· Work closely with debris monitoring teams, contractors, and emergency management agencies to standardize data collection processes.
· Train staff and field teams on data management systems and reporting procedures.
· Serve as the point of contact for data-related inquiries and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in data management, Environmental Science, Emergency Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
· Advanced degrees or certifications in data management or GIS are a plus.
Experience:
· 3–5 years of experience in data management, disaster recovery, or environmental services..
· Hands-on experience with Automatic Debris Management Systems (e.g., Tetra Tech, DMS Systems, or proprietary platforms).
· Familiarity with debris management guidelines and reimbursement processes is preferred.
Certifications:
· Debris Management Training Certificate (preferred).
· Certification in Data Analytics, GIS, or related areas (e.g., Esri, GISP, or ADMS training) is an advantage.
Skills:
· Proficiency in data management software and tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, ArcGIS, or ADMS platforms).
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder
Work Conditions:
· Hybrid work environment with a combination of office-based tasks and field visits to disaster-affected areas.
· Flexible schedule, including long hours during active disaster recovery periods.
Employment Type:
Full-time or contract position, depending on operational requirements.
Salary Range:
$75,000–$90,000 annually (or hourly equivalent), depending on experience and qualifications.
