What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead License Center Specialist position at Wright County?
Performs intermediate skilled administrative support work processing and assisting the public with motor vehicle titles and driver's licenses, and other licenses; maintaining records and files; preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the License Center Manager. Oversight is exercised over License Center Specialist staff.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Certified Deputy Register Clerk within six months of hire.
Title Certification; Background Check within six months of hire.
State and Federal DL Certification to comply with Real ID/Enhanced Driver's License within six months of hire.
Data privacy training for accessing State databases within six months of hire.
A valid driver’s license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required upon hire.

- Handles a variety of motor vehicle transactions including transfers of title, driver's license renewals/replacements, renewal of tabs, clear deficiencies, address and name changes, dealer transactions; enters transactions in MNLARS; administers eye exam; takes pictures; collects fees.
- Serves as a Team Leader, assigning particular work to co-workers and providing training and work direction; assesses and determines when new License Center Specialist have satisfied training requirements and are able to successfully process motor vehicle transactions on their own.
- Analyzes motor vehicle transactions, boat, snowmobile, ATV, OHV, and verifies correct information or documents are included.
- Verifies, processes, and collects fees for hunting or fishing license applications.
- Communicates professionally with other government agencies; communicates processes and requirements with public and other departments; resolves problems and provides solutions.
- Performs accounting duties including balancing monies received; records credit card transactions.
- Assists with the budget process by maintaining office records and data.
- Prepares financial and motor vehicle reports.
- Packages and sends reports, titles, renewals, and other transactions for mailing.
- Trains employees on procedural changes.
- Performs other duties and activities as assigned.
