Key Responsibilities
Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, and fiduciaries on estate planning and wealth transfer strategies.
Draft and review trust and estate documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and healthcare directives.
Coordinate tax planning strategies to minimize estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer taxes.
Manage estate settlement and probate proceedings, ensuring compliance with fiduciary obligations.
Collaborate with paralegals, financial advisors, and colleagues to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
Stay current with changes in tax laws and estate planning legislation.
Represent the firm in client meetings and presentations on estate planning topics.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree; licensed to practice law in Rhode Island or eligibility for prompt admission.
At least 5 years of experience in trust and estate planning and administration.
Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.
LL.M. in Taxation or equivalent tax experience preferred but not required.
