What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at Wurth Group of North America Inc.?
We are currently seeking a results-driven Buyer to help us effectively and efficiently maintain product inventory levels within WBSC’s distribution centers through purchasing activities, forecasting, MRP planning, benchmarking and continuous improvement. As a buyer, you will manage inventory levels & budget as well as interface with leaders and contributors at all levels of the company, customers, and suppliers. This position will be onsite in our corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyzing and improving inventory results and customer service levels
- Preparing & tracking purchase orders, acknowledgements and shipping notices
- Collaborating and communicating with suppliers, teammates, and other departments, including Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse, Accounts Payable, and IT.
- Creating reports and resolving purchase order discrepancies and product defects
- Benchmarking and continuous improvement
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Intermediate Excel skills
- SAP or other ERP system experience
- 1 years in purchasing in a high-volume distribution environment
- Experience with finished goods distribution
- High attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience with SAP is a plus (Advanced ERP System knowledge)
- Advanced Excel skills
- EDI experience (not needed)
- Experience purchasing industrial, building, cabinet making and woodworking products for the residential and commercial construction industries.
