Xavier University is seeking a Summer Programs Coordinator to join our team. The Summer Programs Coordinator supports the overall management of summer programs for international & domestic high school and college students. This position coordinates the overall flow of the experience, which includes learning, logistics, and student safety. The coordinator works with university faculty to build a robust course offering. The position is also responsible for planning age-appropriate activities outside of the classroom, both on and off campus. The coordinator is responsible for the logistics and day-to-day operations of the programs. The coordinator is expected to live on campus for the duration of the programs, approximately 4 weeks per summer.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day program activities and ensure participants are following all safety and behavioral guidelines, including attending all classes and activities.
- Support participants in the group environment. This might include checking in with students individually, troubleshooting issues with group dynamics, developing engaging activities that help the group build relationships and have fun, and more.
- Ensure program follows American Camp Association standards and campus safety guidelines.
- Plan and facilitate activities for the program participants outside of class (e.g., trips to various Cincinnati landmarks, games and fun activities taking place on campus). Coordinate with campus and community partners, and make necessary reservations (e.g., bus, entertainment tickets, room reservations, etc.).
- Hire, train, and supervise student employees to serve as chaperones during summer programs.
- Work with marketing team to develop communication plan for program participants and families at all stages (inquiry, application, admission, enrollment).
- Work with Slate / Admissions team to create and monitor the application process, and collect all necessary forms and materials for successful admission and enrollment into summer programs.
- Coordinate technology and materials used throughout the program. This includes making sure all sessions are set up and ready to start on time, ensuring student materials and assignments are posted and accessible, preparing welcome kits, pre-arrival materials, etc.
- Coordinate residence and classroom reservations with campus partners.
- Bachelor’s degree required in Education, Business, International Studies, or related field
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Valid driver’s license and ability to be covered by University insurance
- Experience working with high school and college students (e.g., summer camp counselor, RA, etc.)
- Ability to obtain CPR & First Aid certification provided during training (if not already obtained)
- Shows attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Demonstrates an ability to exhibit empathy and enthusiasm in interactions with students, parents, faculty, and staff
- Computer proficiency, including knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Experience working with international high school and / or college students
