XBiotech is a fully integrate global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to a pioneering the discovery, development and commercialization of therapeutic antibodies based on its True HumanTM proprietary technology. XBiotech is currently advancing a robust pipeline of antibody therapies to exceed the standards of care in oncology, inflammatory disorders and infectious diseases.
General Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining mammalian cell culture in the cell culture clean room. Primary responsibilities including thawing, propagation, cryopreservation of cells, single cell cloning, adaptation of cells, setting up primary and secondary screen to assess the cell lines.
- Perform stable transfections, selection and single cell cloning to isolate high antibody producing CHO cell lines.
- Perform cell culture titer assay using Bio-layer Interferometry technology.
- Perform transient transfection for the expression of recombinant proteins in cells.
- Perform SDS-PAGE and Western blotting to characterize and evaluate recombinant proteins.
- Operate a robotic cell cloning machine for high throughput clone selection.
- Designs, and conducts specialized research experiments. Techniques for these projects include but are not limited to: molecular genetics, flow cytometry, ELISA and cell-based assay.
- Analyze data, summarize research findings and communicate with team members.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all experiments in lab notebooks and database records.
- Manage laboratory maintenance, inventory and other duties as requested.
Education/Experience requirement
- BS or MS in Cell Biology or Biological Sciences with one year experience in mammalian cell culture.
- Excellent aseptic technique with extensive technical knowledge.
- Hands-on experience in a clean room environment is a plus.
- Experience with molecular biology technique and cell-based assay.
- Highly self-motivated, ability to evaluate, observe, discuss, prioritize and handle multiple projects and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, work ethic and attention to detail.
- Proficient with standard software and data analysis skills.

- This position involves a combination of Research and Development laboratory and cGMP cell culture clean room environments.
