What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service / Dispatcher - On Demand Delivery Services position at Xcel Delivery Services, Inc.?
We are seeking a Weekend Dispatcher to join our team!
You will be responsible for helping customers and drivers by communicating information, entering orders, dispatching orders, coordinating driver coverage, ensuring customer requirements are followed, and even making a delivery or two if needed. The hours would include weekend work and some overnight shifts. Join our dispatch team with opportunities for advancement as we grow.
There are two potential shifts available:
Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 to 16:00 or Saturday and Sunday from 16:00 to 4:00
The positions are available for PT or FT.
PT would only include the two 12-hour shifts on the weekend. FT would include two flexible shifts TBD during the week.
Responsibilities:
Handle customer inquiries and complaints
- Provide real-time information to customers regarding their deliveries
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues and concerns
- Document and update customers' orders
- Develop and maintain a knowledge base of our services and customer requirements
- Proactively monitor the dispatch board for new orders and plan for driver coverage
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in customer service, dispatch, or other related fields is a plus
- Ability to build rapport with clients and vendor drivers
- Ability to work together in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Positive and professional demeanor
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A desire to problem solve
Objectives of this role
- Serve as an agent of the company and dispatch drivers in the field as needed promptly to achieve customers' deadlines and job completion
- Create jobs and dispatch drivers using CXT software
- Update customers using their portals or emails in real time

Salary : $17 - $20
