We are seeking a motivated Human Resources Generalist to join our team. We are a freight forwarding company that manages ocean & air import & exports, customs clearance and delivery, and warehouse logistics.
In this role, you will ensure the human resources department operates smoothly and efficiently, providing maximum value to the company and all employees. Your responsibilities will include organizing training opportunities, onboarding new employees, administering employee benefits, and creating company HR policies. The ideal candidate is an excellent problem-solver with strong verbal and written communication skills and a committed team player.
This is an hourly position working in-office from Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM in our corporate office in West Covina, CA.
Responsibilities
Provides day to day HR service on a variety of people-related administration, systems and
initiatives.
Works with external recruiters, staffing agencies and other recruitment channels to cost
effectively source qualified candidates.
Recruits, interviews, screens, and refers qualified candidates to the hiring manager for
approved job openings.
Confers with managers and supervisors to identify talent needs, job specifications, and
skills required.
Responsible for working with new hires in the pre-boarding and onboarding process to
make sure all information is accurate and the company is compliant with employment laws.
Conduct background checks and reference checks for potential hires.
Maintain and update records of personnel-related data in both paper and online and
ensure all employment requirements are met
Manage monthly payroll operations, social contributions, tax filing, leave record
maintenance, and benefits administration
Inputs, maintains, audits, extracts, manipulates, and analyzes confidential HR data from
ADP in the various modules.
Initiates changes on ADP RUN (Payroll system) associated with various personnel events
such as job or organization changes and salary actions.
Runs periodic data audits of ADP data to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
Support HR team with annual performance management and assists managers with
accurate and timely completion of employee skill assessments and performance reviews.
Support with formal meetings for various Employee Relations cases.
Responds to HR queries in a timely manner, escalating when necessary.
Assisting the HR team with general ad-hoc tasks or any other duties as and when required,
including Involvement in HR Projects.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field
- Previous experience as an HR Generalist or related position
- In-depth knowledge of human resources policies and labor laws
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HR databases
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
