Office Specialist II (Court Clerk) – Extra Help Intermittent On-CallYakima County District Court is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Office Specialist II (Court Clerk) in an Extra Help Intermittent On-Call capacity. This position plays an integral role in delivering fair, timely, and accessible justice while maintaining the highest standards of integrity, respect, and excellence.Pay Range: $22.58 - $28.63 per hour (Non-Bargaining Pay Plan, B22 Step 1-13)Hiring Range: $22.58 - $23.96 per hour (Non-Bargaining Pay Plan, B22 Step 1-4 DOQ)Closing Date: February 6, 2025 Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Court Clerk, you will: Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries about court procedures, case statuses, and filing requirements through phone, email, instant messaging, and in-person interactions.Assist individuals navigating the court system by explaining legal terms, guiding them through filing procedures, and scheduling/rescheduling court dates.Process criminal and infraction filings while adhering to established procedures, guidelines, and data validation requirements.Enter and update case information, process motions, pleadings, and judgments, and maintain accurate and thorough case records.Manage incoming mail by sorting, distributing, recording, and receipting cash received; handle returned mail, docketing, and scanning of documents.Document all relevant interactions with litigants and defendants in the case management system to ensure operational accuracy and accountability.QualificationsRequired: High School Diploma or GED.A minimum of four (4) years of general office experience, including at least one (1) year of clerical support experience in a court setting.WA State Driver’s License and proof of insurance (if requested).Successful completion of a criminal and general employment background investigation.Preferred: Legal clerical experience or working knowledge of the court system, particularly Courts of Limited Jurisdiction.Why Join Us?As a Court Clerk, you will contribute to enhancing the quality of life in our community by supporting the efficient operation of the Yakima County District Court.
