As a WIC Certifier, your tasks will include:
- Educating clients about the WIC program and benefits and assessing eligibility
- Conducting health evaluations and providing nutrition recommendations and counseling
- Referring clients to other services as needed and maintaining accurate records
- Providing customer service and community outreach while ensuring quality assurance and compliance with regulatory standards
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Experience:
- One year of customer service experience is required. An associate's degree may replace experience.
- Experience in reception, nutrition education, working with children/infants, or being a previous WIC certifier or educator is a plus!
- Licenses/Certificates/Registration:
- Medical Assistant – Registered required. Certificate obtained within one year's employment.
- WIC Certification is required once the training period is completed
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required at level 9 to receive bilingual differential pay
- Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work and handle various tasks simultaneously, with frequent interruptions
- Ability to effectively and professionally interact with women, caregivers, infants, children, and staff
- General knowledge in culturally appropriate practice
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records.
- Knowledge about basic nutrition concepts desired
