POSITION TITLE: Youth Services Coordinator
RESPONSIBLE TO: Youth Program Director
SCHEDULE: 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The Youth Services Coordinator is a non-exempt position responsible for all YCAP Youth Outreach Drop-In Center aspects. The Drop-In Center is a place for at-risk youth to access services. Services include recreational activities, skill-building groups, job/career development, academic support, leadership opportunities, shelter, supply distribution (food, clothes, hygiene products), and other services for at-risk youth, with a special emphasis on runaway/homeless youth. This position works closely with the Youth Program Director and oversees the day-to-day operations and services provided at the Drop-In Center. The Youth Services Coordinator works Monday- Friday from 11 am- 8 pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Create a positive team atmosphere by providing quality service to clients, staff, and volunteers through active listening, positive problem-solving, and timely responses.
- Develop and manage the programs, services, and staff of the Drop-In Center.
- Supervise day-to-day activities of the Drop-In Center, including arranging youth services and collaborating with other youth-serving agencies.
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and well-supervised place for youth aged 11-21 to participate in and access services.
- Plan and develop a variety of educational, enrichment, and recreational activities that align with Youth Outreach Department goals.
- Supervise Drop-In staff and volunteers, including directing, scheduling, training, advising, and evaluating performance.
- Work with staff to monitor youth behavior, enforce behavioral expectations, and utilize appropriate discipline measures.
- Assist the Director in preparing and tracking data, special projects, and grant applications.
- Serve as a liaison with parents, community partners, and visitors to promote the Drop-In Center and Youth Outreach programs positively.
- Maintain data and records and provide timely reports as needed. Ensure outcomes are tracked, safety procedures are followed, and files meet grant requirements.
- Conduct outreach regularly, going to places where youth frequently congregate (schools, parks, skate parks, etc.) to identify and connect with youth in need and promote Youth Outreach services and programs.
- Follow and adhere to agency, department, and program policies and procedures and assist with the development of policies and procedures as needed.
- Ensure facilities are safe, organized, clean, and adequately supplied.
- Assist with purchases of supplies for program activities while staying within program budget.
- Collaborate with and make recommendations to the Director related to program needs.
- Occasionally drive to and from locations for outreach and transport youth to and from school, appointments, or other essential needs.
- Provides direct service to clients as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, stand, kneel, walk, or bend for periods of time. May lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- BA/BS degree (Social Work preferred) and/or lived experience
- Knowledge of At-Risk youth issues and programing
- Knowledge of computers and software programs
- Skill in verbal and written communications, problem-solving, and teamwork
- Skill in supervising and motivating staff and volunteers
- Ability to work independently on multiple projects in a timely fashion
- Ability to work with diverse people, organizations, and situations
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to drive agency vehicles, meet insurance requirements, and pass driving, drug, and vigorous background screens.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.75 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
