What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weekley Center Executive Director position at YMCA OF GREATER HOUSTON?
Oversees the total operation of a YMCA center, including the member experience, local grass-roots marketing, youth & family programs, healthy living, volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies. Work within a centralized, matrix model of staffing with departments such as Facilities, Outreach, and Out of School Time.
Essential Functions:
- Provides visionary leadership to motivate and inspire staff. Fosters a culture of inclusivity, collaboration and excellence.
- Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies and programs that support center and Association mission, goals, and strategies. Work with Program Directors to ensure members receive a high quality, positive member experience in the center and in programs.
- Builds a strong, engaged and committed board of volunteers and committees.
- Directs the financial development activities of the center to ensure goals are met.
- Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
- Oversees the hiring, training, supervision and development of center-based staff. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Develops, manages, and monitors the center-operating budget and meet or exceeds budget targets.
- Directs strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the center.
- Ensures the maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
- Mitigates risk by implementing appropriate safety measure and protocols. Ensures that the center adheres to YMCA policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Directs center marketing and communication efforts.
- Serves as a member of YMCA management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
- May directory directly oversee at least one program area such as Member Experience.
- Participates in the center’s Leader on Duty rotation.
