Membership Coordinator, Speer YMCA
Description: Under the guidance and supervision of the Senior Program Director, the Membership Coordinator manages front desk operations and supports all activities related to membership services. Ensures excellent service is a top priority for all prospective members, guests, and member and program participants.
Essential Functions:
- Builds and maintains healthy relationships with the members, program participants, and community.
- Ensures adherence of branch policies and procedures for the membership staff.
- Responds to and handles member questions or concerns in an effective customer friendly manner at all times.
- Processes membership sales, holds, cancellations, and other administrative tasks, in a timely manner.
- Participates in branch retention events and activities; promotes YMCA programs and services in interactions with members, guests, and the community.
- Tracks and updates daily membership tracker, sales and scans.
- Manages all membership holds and terminations including concerns and retention efforts.
- Approves financial aid applications.
- Records and oversees cash payments made for the facility.
- Processes and approves branch refunds.
- Updates marketing material in branch including digital signage, liaison with school emails and marquee.
- Supports branch with Manager on Duty shifts.
Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent required; college experience preferred
- Minimum 2 years member or customer service experience
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to initiate member engagement.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- High skill level in organizing, planning, time management and implementation of administrative procedures.
- Ability to work as a positive team player to provide support to membership staff team.
- Required within 30 days of hire: CPR; First Aid; AED.
- Excellent organizational, planning, communication and computer skills required.
Pay & Perks: Hourly range $18-22, commensurate with experience. 30 hrs/week. Flexible hours and shifts available to include mornings, afternoons, evenings and/or weekends.
