Camp Director

Job Summary

At YMCA Southcoast, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Camp Specialist to join our team. As a Camp Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and supervising various program areas within our campsites.

Key Responsibilities

• Design camper programs around specific camp specialties, including athletic, creative, physical, and educational activities.
• Plan and schedule activities based on the abilities and interests of our campers.
• Write engaging lesson plans that foster skill development and promote a positive experience for our campers.
• Maintain awareness of potential health and safety issues and take appropriate action to ensure a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• High School graduate or equivalent; minimum one year of college preferred.
• Experience working with children in a day camp setting.
• Ability to interact effectively with children and parents on a range of issues.
• Experienced and skilled in one or more camp program activities.
• Certified in CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention within the first 30 days of hire.

Physical Demands

• Required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Required to demonstrate physical stamina and agility, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements and communicate verbally in a noisy environment.
