Summary:
The LIMS Assistant Administrator is responsible for supporting the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This role assists in integrating LIMS with laboratory operations, supports end-users, and ensures compliance with regulatory and company policies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with the implementation and integration of LIMS within laboratory workflows.
- Support end-users and external customers by serving as a liaison between stakeholders and the LIMS system.
- Maintain and update LIMS data, including product testing and specifications.
- Provide support for building and posting reports within the LIMS system.
- Assist in database development and customization to meet laboratory needs.
- Identify and resolve LIMS-related technical issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (cGLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
- Follow all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
Skills & Qualifications:
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively in a team setting.
· Experience working with LIMS or similar laboratory management software is preferred.
· Strong communication skills for training and supporting end-users.
Required Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Two to four years of related experience in LIMS support, laboratory data management, or a related field.
· A combination of education and experience may be considered in place of specific years of experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Laboratory Science, or a related field.
· Previous experience with LIMS software in a regulated environment.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop, smartphone, and photocopiers. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Essential oils are worn and/or diffused in the work environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This position requires the incumbent to be physically present at the assigned worksite. The regular schedule is from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a half-hour lunch, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Employees are also expected to work at least one non-convention farm event a year and to work at the annual company convention.
Exact hour requirements can be reasonably modified as necessary for the business needs by the employee’s manager.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities of this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to type, file, and occasionally lift office supplies up to 20 pounds. The employee must be physically able to tolerate the scent of essential oils worn or diffused.
