What are the responsibilities and job description for the Telecom Fiber Splicing Supervisor - Telecom/Fiber Splicing position at Young s Communications LLC?
This position leads, directs, and coaches the fiber splicing teams that are responsible for Splicing and Testing. Assure SOP and MOPs are being followed. Mentoring our fiber splicing teams, ensuring safe work practices, driving production, delivering quality in accordance with industry and customer standards, meeting project schedules, and driving successful close outs.
Must live in the UP, Michigan area, if not be willing to do a work rotation of 30/5
Responsibilities:
- Partner with corporate safety team to set and drive the safety culture.
- Partner with Project Management team to maintain project schedules.
- Serve as a steward of company culture.
- Lead, coach, and develop self-perform fiber splicing teams with a specific emphasis on safety and production.
- Work closely with the National Director, Technical Services to establish project Key Performance Indicators that tie to financial budgets.
- Drive fiber splicing teams to meet or exceed established safety and production Key Performance Indicators. Self-Perform and Contractors.
- Direct and manage teams responsible for fiber splicing, and testing. Self-Perform and Contractors.
- Work with Construction Managers to develop schedules for fiber splicing, terminating, and testing of OSP fiber network.
- Drive test teams to capture all required deliverables (within acceptable customer specifications) to deliver successful closeout of project.
- Coordinate with Project and Construction managers to deploy resources into construction service areas to meet market schedule delivery.
- Responsible for the project Fiber Quality.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, residents, and jurisdictional officials.
Qualifications:
- Displays exceptional leadership and promotes Company culture, delivers on required objectives, and develops team leaders.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading OSP Fiber Splice and Test teams.
- Comfort with electronic tolls and automation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional knowledge of industry technology standards.
- Deep knowledge of required splice and test tools, power meters, fusion splicers, and EXFO OTDR’s
- Exceptional knowledge of safety practices in accordance with OSHA and industry standards
