HOURLY RATE: $23.00 - $25.00

- This program is based in the community. You will be expected to spend at least 15 hours per week traveling to sites throughout Los Angeles County. Parking and mileage are reimbursed.
Program Coordinator - Youth & Community Engagement
Are you looking to make a lasting impact on the health of communities? Does driving system change to increase access to resources and wellness excite you? Well, National Health Foundation (NHF) is looking for a dynamic Program Coordinator for our community and youth engagement programs! This position will be conducting community-based participatory research and community organizing programs in specific neighborhoods across LA County, and conduct school-based sexual and reproductive health programs for youth. This Program Coordinator will be expected to attend community meetings, facilitate capacity building workshops, and lead a cohort or two of youth health education classes, while also supporting other projects and programs.
Responsibilities and Initiatives
- Coordinate and execute day-to-day program tasks, including but not limited to scheduling and preparing for high school health education classes and workshops, communicating and maintaining partnerships with schools and community organizations.
- Coordinate community advocacy group(s), including scheduling workshops, group meetings, and preparing & presenting material.
- Assist with the development and implementation of youth and community programs/projects, mainly focused on education equity and built environment initiatives.
- Participate and present at community-based education and community organizing efforts.
- Represent NHF at coalition meetings and build relationships with external partners to increase NHF’s visibility.
- Coordinate and/or assist with community and youth events and grassroot campaigns to mobilize program participants and organizational partners towards our common goal of health equity.
- Create and post relevant social media posts and/or manage social media groups and “communities”.
- Assist with program expansion and evaluation efforts, including but not limited to creating curricula/lesson plans, disseminating evaluation surveys, and analyzing data.
- Provide trainings and capacity-building workshops on community organizing, civic engagement, public speaking, and other skills that will help community members move Action Plan along.
- Assist with community outreach and engagement efforts around new housing/recuperative care projects in Arleta including developing intergenerational program curricula and processes.
- Always follow NHF policies and procedures.
