What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Youth Care Worker position at Youth Home, Inc?
What you will be doing as a Youth Care Worker
- Part-Time - 16-32 hours a week
- Saturday-Sunday 2pm-10pm (Pick up additional shifts as needed)
- Starting hourly rate is $15.00 with a $0.50 raise after 6 months of successful employment and another $0.50 raise after 1 year of successful employment.
- Applying the Youth Home residential program to manage youth behavior and teach social skills to at-risk youth in our community.
- Providing immediate intervention to problematic behaviors and providing crisis intervention when necessary.
- Reporting daily to inform and update supervisors and other youth care workers concerning the progress and wellbeing of each resident.
- Collaborating with your teammates each day to ensure a smooth a successful day for each youth in the Youth Home's care.
- Preparing healthy, home-cooked meals and snacks
- Transporting youth to school, appointments, and recreational activities using Youth Home provided vehicles (Must be confident in driving in all types of weather).
- Helping youth succeed in education.
- Have strong organizational skills and be detailed oriented.
- Be able to follow a routine and maintain consistency in the daily schedule as well as consistency in daily behavior management.
What you will bring:
- All applicants must be 21
- HS Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to pass an FBI background check and Central Registry check (No DUI's and no child abuse or neglect charges).
- Must be able to operate a vehicle, as transporting youth to school/appointments is necessary, this includes unfavorable but drivable conditions to Green River in a punctual manner.
- A passion for working with youth who require disciplinary guidance and mental and emotional support.
- An eagerness to be a part of a caring and team-oriented company culture.
- A deep commitment to show up every day (which includes reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license).
