Job Summary
Responsible for general supervision and oversees the day, evening, and weekend activities for residential program participants.
Responsible for implementing support to women and children following the vision and mission of YWCA Wheeling of eliminating racism and empowering women.
Job Duties:.
· Provide support via phone or in person; answer 24-hour crisis hotline.
· Meet with potential residents and complete initial intake paperwork and assist with departure processes.
· Provide safety planning, active listening, program and community information, referrals, crisis intervention and emotional support; assist with short- and long-term goals.
· De-escalate any situation using verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
· Act as Anchor for building and ensure security of the facility, monitor security cameras, let residents in and out of secured facility.
· Ensure all medications are secure in the medicine cabinet, monitor and record usage.
· Keep accurate documentation for contact hours, including shift logs and incident reports.
· Report any behavior or problems to the program coordinator and document on briefing sheet any concerns regarding residents, for next shift.
· Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and usability of the facility (interior and exterior)
· Oversee the assignment and completion of household chores.
· Complete daily internal and external walk-throughs of facility and address any concerns related to physical upkeep.
· Perform tasks as outlined on staff chore list including but not limited to facility laundry, trash disposal. Daily cleaning may include but not limited to: stove/ovens, wiping walls and woodwork, sweeping/mopping floors, cleaning cabinets, steaming furniture, moving mattresses, bed bug protocol.
· Assist in preparing resident rooms for move in and support residents during relocation.
· Assist in maintaining equipment and supplies communicating needs to Residential Coordinator.
· Carry out emergency procedures as required.
· Attends and participates in staff meetings and completion of all staff required trainings and certifications.
· Occasional overnight travel, attendance at meetings and trainings
· Any other duties as assigned.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.50 - $12.85 per hour
