Volunteer Coordinator
ZABS Place is a non-profit thrift boutique in Matthews, NC that trains and employs young adults with special needs and talents. We have a unique culture that is fun, friendly, and nimble. We are looking to grow, and a need a volunteer coordinator to join the team.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly wage: $16 - $18/hour (based on experience)
- Enjoyable and meaningful work environment with a passionate team
Schedule:
- 5 days onsite weekly, days flexible
- 36-40 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Recruiting: Finding volunteers who have the skills and experience to contribute to the organization
- Training: Ensuring volunteers are trained and have all the tools need to complete assigned tasks successfully
- Assigning tasks: Matching volunteers with tasks that fit their skills and interests. Working with the team to identify areas of need
- Scheduling: Planning when volunteers will work, and providing coverage for gaps
- Supervising: Checking in with volunteers and providing feedback
- Tracking hours: Recording how much time volunteers spend working for the organization
- Evaluating: Assessing volunteers' performance and productivity, and providing that feedback to encourage continuous growth
- Recognizing: Showing appreciation for volunteers' contributions
- Managing events: Assisting in organizing events, securing volunteers to assist, and promoting the event
Skills:
- Communication: Being able to communicate clearly with volunteers and other team members
- Flexibility: Being able to adapt to changing circumstances
- Problem-solving: Being able to find solutions to challenges
- Empathy: Being able to understand and relate to others
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in volunteer coordination or non profit organizations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Passion for our mission and commitment to excellence in service.
- Must be able to work and make sound decisions independently.
