Job Purpose:
To assure cleanliness of the guest floor corridors, foyers, stairwells, and public vending areas, and assists room attendants as required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Empties room attendant carts of soiled linen and trash.
- Vacuum, sweep, and/or mop hallways, stairwells, vending areas, and foyers.
- Clean, dust and remove spots from corridor walls and doors.
- Obtain amenities and supplies for room attendants.
- Flip mattresses and move furniture as needed or directed by supervisory management.
- Removes trash and linen from guestrooms as directed by supervisory management.
- Expedites special guest requests, such as extra towels, blankets, or pillows.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Skills:
- Ability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand and walk continuously, climbs stairs, and push or pull heavy equipment.
- Ability to listen, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions as assigned by supervising management
- Basic ability to comprehend (verbal and written) English language sufficient to understand and communicate information to include safety and security procedures.
- Ability to provide clear direction, instruction and guidance to guests and team members.
- Ability to lift equipment, supplies or furniture weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of chemical, cleaning agents, and operation of various cleaning equipment.
- Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, and stand and walk public areas for extended periods of time.
Qualifications Standards
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
No prior experience required. Prior hospitality experience preferred.
