Optometrist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including eye examinations, diagnosis of visual problems, and prescribing corrective lenses. The Optometrist will also educate patients on eye health and wellness while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Duties

• Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect any abnormalities or diseases.
• Diagnose and manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy.
• Prescribe corrective lenses and provide recommendations for visual aids.
• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the importance of regular eye exams.
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals as necessary.
• Stay current with advancements in optometry practices and technologies.
• Provide exceptional customer service to enhance patient experience.

Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid state licensure to practice optometry.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and optical principles.
• Familiarity with medical coding practices is a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with patients.
• Experience in ophthalmology is preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform vital signs assessments as part of patient evaluations.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
• Sales skills are beneficial for recommending products to patients.
