Zappos is looking for a proven Operations leader to set and manage the strategy of Zappos Supply Chain Operations. Director, Supply Chain Operations, will manage our direct operations and fulfillment strategies through influence inside the Amazon NAFC Operational Engine. This role will establish and maintain a balance of high efficiency operational processing while maintaining a culture in line with Zappos.

The Director, Supply Chain Ops will own various outcomes, including covering product imaging, inbound freight, fulfillment, and Customer returns, as well as maximizing WOW across the Amazon FC network through a strong network of influence. You will be responsible for supporting specialty programs that will not scale as well driving ongoing efficiency for operations that are meant to scale. Constant evaluation of optimal inventory placement, tools to leverage, and processes to evolve will need to be a passion and priority as the only thing that remains the same at Zappos is our love of Core Value #2, Embrace and Drive Change.

Role Responsibilities
- Setting, maintaining, and evolving the Zappos controlled and influenced placement footprint that optimizes for experience (in the order of priority quickest promise times, minimized defects) and lowest cost
- Optimizing the cost and processing efficiencies of controlled operations that generates differentiated WOW for Zappos customers where Amazon is falling short, while making Zappos the best place to work across the FC Network
- Building up Amazon level operational efficiency muscle within the Zappos organization through hiring and developing the best and insisting on the highest standards
Qualifications
- 10-15 Years of professional experience related to broad supply chain management of distribution, logistics, inventory management, and sourcing; experience with multi-site distribution management
- 5 years working with/inside the Amazon NAFC network
- Strong background leveraging contemporary supply chain, logistics and continuous improvement tools / methodologies to drive customer fulfillment, quality, cost, inventory management and safety
- Strong network of resources inside the Amazon Ops and Relo organizations
- Strong understanding of Amazon operations tools and systems
- Demonstrated experience in creating and proactive monitoring/management of KPIs needed to optimize customer WOW
