Academic Support Specialist

This part-time Education Assistant role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting students in K-12 classrooms. As an Education Assistant, you will work closely with licensed teachers to implement academic adaptations and individualized education plans (IEPs). Responsibilities

1. Assist licensed staff in implementing academic adaptations and individualized education plans (IEPs).
2. Work individually or in small groups to support students' self-care and social/behavioral needs.
3. Help maintain a safe, engaging classroom environment conducive to learning.
4. Provide timely support to students in crisis situations.
5. Utilize various learning methods to tailor support to each student's needs.

Qualifications

• Education:
• A minimum of 60 college credits or higher, OR one of the following:
• A passing score on the Paraeducator Assessment (65% on the Instructional Support test and 70% on the Knowledge and Application test)
• A passing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment (combined score of 460 or above)
• Language & Authorization:
• Professional proficiency in English
• U.S. Work Authorization (no visa sponsorship or relocation assistance)
• Experience:
• At least 1-year experience working with children in any structured setting (e.g., school, daycare, volunteer program)

Benefits

• Pay: $18-$22 per hour, paid weekly
• Schedule: Part-time, flexible schedule between 7:30 am and 3:00/4:30 pm (Monday to Friday, no weekend work)
