Job Summary:
We seek an experienced, detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to manage cases from inception through trial. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Pennsylvania law, a strong background in medical record analysis, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting critical deadlines. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, independent initiative, and proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage medical malpractice, general liability, and professional liability cases from initial filing to resolution, ensuring compliance with court deadlines.
- Review, analyze, and summarize complex medical records, depositions, and discovery materials.
- Draft pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and other legal documents under attorney supervision.
- Maintain daily time entry billing records in accordance with firm and client guidelines.
- Coordinate trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
- Liaise with attorneys, clients, experts, and external parties to facilitate case progression.
- Conduct legal research using Lexis (preferred) and other platforms to support case strategy.
- Assist with discovery processes, including document production and interrogatory responses.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical case files.
Qualifications:
- Paralegal experience in medical malpractice, general liability, and/or professional liability defense.
- In-depth knowledge of Pennsylvania civil procedure and litigation processes.
- Proven ability to analyze medical records and synthesize key findings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong written/verbal communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with timekeeping/billing software and deadline-driven workflows.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with trial preparation (exhibit organization, witness coordination).
- Proficiency in LexisNexis or Westlaw for legal research.
- Familiarity with e-filing systems and case management software.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
