Entry Level IT Support Specialist
Job Summary:
The IT Support Specialist ensures stability, security, and efficiency of the organization's IT infrastructure and data management systems. This role provides technical support, maintains HIPAA compliance, assists in data management, and works to improve technology-driven processes. The IT Support Specialist will support end-users, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with internal teams to enhance IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Support & IT Infrastructure
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network systems.
- Assist with help desk tickets, troubleshooting and resolving IT-related issues in a timely manner.
- Perform routine system monitoring, maintenance, and updates to ensure performance and security.
- Assist in server administration, SharePoint management, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 support.
- Diagnose and resolve connectivity, security, and performance issues.
- Provide basic training to staff on IT tools, security practices, and system usage.
2. Data Security & Compliance
- Ensure organizational data and IT systems adhere to HIPAA compliance and cybersecurity best practices.
- Install, manage, and monitor security systems to protect against breaches, viruses, malware, and unauthorized access.
- Maintain data integrity, ensuring secure storage and transfer of information.
- Assist in the automation of manual processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
3. Process Improvement & Documentation
- Develop and update IT documentation, including FAQs, troubleshooting guides, and training materials.
- Recommend improvements to enhance IT infrastructure and data management practices.
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, configurations, and system changes.
- Support digital content management and assist in maintaining organizational databases.
4. Collaboration & Continuous Learning
- Work closely with the Data Team to optimize technology solutions.
- Participate in regular meetings to discuss IT needs, updates, and security concerns.
- Stay updated on emerging IT trends, software updates, and security threats to enhance organizational IT strategies.
Data Management Responsibilities:
- Support data entry, processing, and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Transfer and organize data across multiple computer databases.
- Retrieve, verify, and update data as needed.
- Assist in generating reports for leadership and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Windows OS, and basic networking.
- Strong understanding of IT troubleshooting, system maintenance, and security best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and confidentiality awareness.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, SharePoint, or CRM/EHR systems.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and data security protocols.
- Prior experience in an IT support role, help desk, or data management.
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified, etc.).
- Experience in process automation or scripting.
Education & Experience:
- Associate’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Internships or hands-on experience in IT support are a plus.
- If in recovery, must have a minimum of two years in active recovery with continuous involvement in a recovery program.
Work Environment & Schedule:
- This position is on-site at our Marion County, FL office.
- May require occasional evening or weekend availability for system maintenance.
- May require occasional travel to surrounding counties for system maintenance.
