Permit Coordinator
Ziglift Material Handling is one of the nation’s leading independent warehouse storage solutions companies. We have an immediate opening for a Permit Coordinator to join our team. Ziglift has six locations in four states that specialize in providing innovative and cost-effective storage solutions for our customers.
The Permit Coordinator is responsible for assisting the project management and sales team in creating applications, assisting with layouts, coordinating with agencies and track permitting timelines. This position reports directly to the Lead Project Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Prepare or ensure proper creation of applications and required documents for submittal packages to various agencies, jurisdictions, boards, or committees.
· Manage coordination and communication with permitting agencies, jurisdictions, boards, or committees. Monitor and follow up on permit status to ensure timely permit issuance per the Lot Purchase schedule
· Coordinate permitting time frames with external clients and contractors as required.
· Floor and sprinkler layout and engineering.
· Appointment of Lien Agent (if applicable).
· Obtain and/or review property owner lists, rules, regulations from various resources and agencies when required for permitting applications and compliance.
· Coordinate with internal project managers and staff members on permitting deliverables and required documents for completion.
· Monitor, track, and provide timely updates on permit tracking for internal and external reporting.
· Conduct permitting research to understand permitting requirements and expectations in various states and cities. Assist permitting agencies in obtaining said information.
· Assist team as needed to support project setup, project folders, forms, and internal databases.
· Compile and distribute start packages to subcontractors and clients.
· Submit and pick up all building and Utility permits in all municipalities.
· Resolve permitting concerns that may arise.
· Perform other duties as needed or assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- Associate degree or similar Technical Education.
- Experience in Construction or General Contractor.
- Relevant Experience in permitting through federal, state, and local jurisdictions/agencies.
- Good customer service skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Good Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite/O365 applications.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastically willing to contribute to a positive workplace, work well with others
- Possess good time management skills
- Ability to problem-solve.
- Resourceful and proactive.
- High level of professionalism and discretion in business matters to handle confidential information.
- Ability to identify, analyze, communicate, and implement process improvements.
- Ability to multi-task and manage administrative staff.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000-$75,000 annually
