Creative Project Manager

OVERALL OBJECTIVE

Manages the day-to-day creative workflow & project management process required within specific client database of the agency. The Project Manager supervises the project management process including supervising employees and contributing to their success. The Project Manager represents both the CPM and Creative departments to the agency. In this dual role, the incumbent acts as both a diplomat and provocateur, adeptly balancing client requirements, Account Services demands, and the creative needs. The Project Manager is responsible for supervising the scheduling, monitoring, and tracking of the internal workflow for all clients and is responsible for positive internal/external client satisfaction. This role is the liaison with other departments on behalf of the Project management department.

RESONSIBILITIES

• Manages complex, large-scale projects across a given client's initiatives. The role incorporates project management with an emphasis on the fundamentals of scoping and estimating projects, creating timelines, providing critical reporting, and general project management.
• Supervises direct reports: including evaluating skill levels, maintaining training programs and assigning workload appropriately.
• Mentors departmental associates, assisting them to improve on their skills, collaborate on projects and learn new techniques necessary for project management.
• Maintains processes for the team – maintaining current procedures and developing new procedures as necessary.
• Directs the development of production schedules to manage active creative projects.
• Identifies available resources and assign individual responsibilities to creative and copy staff.
• Assesses efforts required by design teams to deliver projects.
• Assesses impact on the time, scope, and budget relationship to maintain successful delivery.
• Schedules, monitors and tracks internal projects and workflow in Workfront.
• Creates Estimates and POs requested and as dictated by CPM responsibilities.
• Ensures communication of project status to all key stakeholders on a regular basis.
• Manages project plans, estimates, timelines, and resources.
• Facilitates frequent inter-departmental meetings to gauge production workload and stay consistently informed of all active and forecasted work.
• Works closely with various departments to meet project needs (Strategy, UX, Code Development, Studio, Media, Research, Outside Vendors, etc.)
• Establish a close working relationship with key project team members: creative, development, account services, retail technology, strategy, media, etc.
• Resolve issues and negotiate solutions between all departments involved in projects.
• Assist with implementation and training for all agency processes and procedures.
• Develop / research opportunities to advance and improve the operations of the department.
• Maintain and acquire detailed information regarding emerging traffic technologies, including, but not limited to digital ad serving; scheduling software; financial system use, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required and/or 5 years of professional experience.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead manage and improve a department.
• Strong project management, communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience working in demanding creative environments.
• Proficient with software applications used for planning and scheduling, such as Workfront, Microsoft Excel, Word, & Outlook.
• Ability to organize information quickly and at a high level.
• Clear, concise, and effective communication.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, utilizes resources, identify, and address problems, and meet deadlines.
• Poise and focus under pressure; inspires confidence to work independently and in support of department goals and business objectives.
