Essential Responsibilities
- Providing legal counsel on compliance matters to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Developing and implementing legal compliance policies, procedures, and systems to enhance regulatory compliance.
- Conducting legal compliance risk assessments and overseeing compliance hotline monitoring.
- Leading internal legal investigations and preparing comprehensive investigation reports.
- Performing legal audits to assess and improve legal compliance.
- Advising on business partner code of conduct compliance and governmental affairs compliance matters.
- Delivering legal training sessions to educate staff on relevant laws and regulations.
- Managing company litigation, including strategy development and case oversight.
- Coordinating with legal staff to handle service of process and subpoena responses.
- Drafting legal memoranda and providing strategic legal guidance to executives and other departments.
- Overseeing the company’s e-discovery system and ensuring compliance with document retention policies.
- Monitoring and reporting on legal and regulatory developments that may impact the organization.
- Upholding exemplary ethical behavior, including compliance with policies, transparency, and accountability.
- Performing all other duties as assigned by the General Counsel.
- Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA-accredited Law School.
- Excellent academic credentials (Top 30% of law school class preferred).
- 6 – 10 years of job-related experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Effective negotiation and decision-making abilities.
- Experience in performance management and people development.
- Georgia State Bar law license (recommended); if not, must be obtained within six (6) months of employment.
- Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional Certificate.
