POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Commissary Office Manager, this position is responsible for performing various clerical duties, answering telephones, answering the front door intercom and directing/greeting visitors. Clerical responsibilities include processing checks for deposits, maintaining a petty cash, inputting and/or scanning data and documents into our ordering program and/or accounting software, helping customers over the phone with orders and questions and other general duties that contribute to the order desk process, receiving department and office in general.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Unlocks office doors at the start of the workday; locks at the end of the workday.
- Handles all incoming calls and transfers to the appropriate parties.
- Receives all visitors professionally (answer front door intercom, greet and direct as needed)
- Maintains a pleasant manner and projects a positive and professional image at all times, both in person and over the phone
- Performs various clerical responsibilities as required by Office Manager
- Maintains and balances petty cash and deposit
- Creates and maintains various files
- Organizes and maintains the office storeroom
- General upkeep of the office area, include office equipment maintenance, supplies, office kitchen, and office restroom
QUALIFICATIONS:
Scheduling:
- Regular Schedule 8am-5pm Monday-Friday
- Available to work as early as 7:30am
- Available to work Monday through Friday, occasional weekends and holidays
Physical Ability:
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
- Occasional lifting of 20 to 30 pounds
- Standing/walking up to 4 to 5 hours a day
- Reaching/bending frequently
- Good speech and hearing necessary for talking on the telephone and communicating with staff, employees, managers and the general public
Mental Ability:
- Numerically inclined
- Accurate with numbers and information
- Ability to handle confidential information and cash
- Problem solving ability
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to multitask
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Must pass drug screening test
- Must also have passed a TB test Dated/Issued within 12 months of date of hire OR Dated/Issued at the age of 16 or older.
Environmental Conditions:
- Air-conditioned, office environment
Education:
- Minimum High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
Experience:
- Some experience working in an office environment is suggested
