The OrganizationHomeward Bound is the leading nonprofit organization in Buncombe County focused on preventing and ending homelessness using the best practice Housing First model. We work collaboratively with community partners and have a proven track record of helping individuals and families achieve housing stability. Since 2006, Homeward Bound has moved more than 2,615 people off the streets, out of cars, camps, and shelters and into permanent housing.
Schedule and compensation: This is a full-time, grant-funded, limited-term full time position. Starting pay rate is $23.00/hour, approximately $47,840/year.
OverviewHomeward Bound of Western North Carolina, Inc. is seeking a Healthy Opportunities Pilot (HOP) Specialist to support the operations and administration of the HOP Program. This position involves significant administrative responsibilities. The HOP Specialist will provide critical administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the HOP Program. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The successful candidate will be expected to value and uphold Homeward Bound of Western North Carolina Inc.’s mission of preventing and ending homelessness in our community through permanent housing and support, contributing to our goal of providing impactful community services. This is a grant-funded, limited-term full time position. The office for this position is located at Compass Point Village.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the daily operational tasks including scheduling, data entry, and document preparation.
  • Support billing processes, perform invoice reconciliations, and assist with budget tracking.
  • Maintain accurate records and files related to HOP services and client interactions.
  • Coordinate logistics for HOP-related meetings and events, including preparing agendas and taking detailed minutes.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to facilitate the delivery of HOP services.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to program managers and other stakeholders.
  • Handle correspondence and queries related to the HOP Program.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of promotional materials and communications.
  • Ensure compliance with NC Medicaid regulations and other relevant guidelines.
  • Support the mission of Homeward Bound by ensuring that all administrative tasks contribute to the effective delivery of services to our community.

Annual Self-Care Fund: Take care of yourself! Each year, you'll receive a self-care fund of $200, which you can use for wellness activities, gym memberships, or anything that promotes your well-being.
