Job Description:

The Assistant School Aged Teacher in a school-age program is responsible for assisting with planning and implementing an enriching program for the children. In addition to insuring the safety safety of each child, the Assistant School Age Child Care Teacher is expected to provide a warm, comfortable environment, which reflects ABC Care's philosophy regarding school aged child care. The Assistant School Aged Teacher of managing a group of unsupervised children when necessary.

Job requirements:

• Age 19 years or older
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be able to bend at a 45 degree angle, must be able to lift 30 lbs, must be able to twist body both left and right, must be able to sit on the ground and get up successfully without assistance of another person, must be able to squat, must be able to stand a minimum of 4 hours, must be able to walk up and down stairs.
• Having a driver"'s license to be able to get from one center to another in a timely manner is preferred.
• One of the following:
  • 800 Hours of recent paid or documented volunteer experience supervising groups of school age children;
  • 600 Hours of approved experience and 15 clock hours of approved college coursework; or
  • 400 Hours of approved experience and 45 clock hours, or their equivalent, of approved college coursework
• Willing to take continuing education classes
• Willing to take CPR & First Aid class
