We are looking for a Front-End Engineer with experience developing web and mobile front ends with React and Expo. This role will join our Technology Team, reporting to the CTO and working alongside other multi-disciplinary software engineers and designers; implementing new features and optimizing existing capabilities on our platform. Our Technology Team is responsible for the development, maintenance, and optimization of Roundtrip’s proprietary technology platform.
As a Front-End Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Building sustainable, extensible, and testable front-end components following best practices.
• Owning feature implementation from design, through development, testing and operational maintenance in production.
• Participating in peer reviews for code, architecture, and general ideation.
• Collaborating closely with cross-functional groups of Roundtrippers to identify solutions to customer and company problems.

The ideal candidate will have experience building and testing web applications in a professional collaborative team-based environment. This position sits on our Technology Team and is 100% remote. The compensation range for this role is 105K-120K and will be based on one’s project experience with the desired technology stack and level of work independence. Please note this position is for U.S based candidates only.
What You’ll Do:

• Build and maintain Roundtrip’s web applications using React, React Native, Redux, and SCSS.
• Collaborate closely with back-end developers for seamless feature integration.
• Participate in the code review process for your own code and that of your fellow engineers.
• Participate in regular maintenance and upgrades for libraries, dependencies, and frameworks that Roundtrip uses to build our platform.
• Write unit, end-to-end, and visual regression tests with Jest and Codecept.
• Collaborate with platform engineers to ensure alignment of front-end toolchains with CI/CD and testing frameworks used across the technology footprint.
• Work closely with cross-functional roles across our company to identify software solutions to help achieve company and customer goals.

What You’ll Have:

• Experience in front-end web development, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
• Strong experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React.JS, with a thorough understanding of its core principles.
• You are experienced in consuming APIs and integrating third-party services into front-end experiences.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6 ).
• Experience with client-side performance and optimization.
• A highly collaborative approach to engineering, seeking to give and receive feedback on solutions.
• The ability to act proactively; identifying and suggesting improvements that can be made to our codebase and processes.
