Job Summary:
Maintains all equipment (including trucks, trailers, and all other equipment) by completing inspections and preventative maintenance requirements, correcting vehicle deficiencies, making adjustments and alignments, and keeping records.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
  2. Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing the component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
  3. Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches and traction units.
  4. Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
  5. Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
  6. Ensures proper D.O.T. and state inspection and insurance papers are included in the cab databook.
  7. Must be familiar with all safety procedures for working with electricity, engines, compressors and material safety data sheets for related materials.
  8. May work in proximity to significant hazards (H2S, chemicals, high voltage, elevated heights, volatile liquids, etc.) which require safety accommodations and procedures.
  9. Perform light maintenance on fleet equipment such as oil changes, minor repairs, brake adjustments, grease trucks, and trailers; inspect equipment for problems, complete repair orders.
  10. Performs brake jobs, troubleshooting, electrical problems, and inspect equipment (turbo, engine, a/c, all electrical).
  11. Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
  12. Performs state truck and trailer inspections.
  13. Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
  14. Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventative maintenance; calling for repairs.
  15. Contains costs by using the warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
  16. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  17. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.
  18. Assists with special projects.
  19. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience in {area of expertise}
  1. Ability to follow all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to attendance standards.
  2. Good computer skills required including MS Excel
  3. Excellent phone skills with positive attitude and professional mannerism
  4. Intermediate to advanced mechanical aptitude and familiarity with diesel and gasoline engines, electronics and testing equipment.
  5. Basic math skills required to take measurements, change speedometers, read manuals and perform service work.
  6. Must have applicable safety training, licenses, and certifications for the job assignment. {List specific licenses and certifications.}
  7. Must have a class D operator driver's license to operate company pickup trucks.
