Heartland Women's Health is Hiring a Remote HR Generalist

Advantia is seeking a skilled Human Resources (HR) Generalist to drive our people operations processes for our midwest region. The HR Generalist will work with our employees, practice manager, leadership, and Advantia Headquarters to support our Practice-level and company goals. This position will report directly to the People Operations Manager at Advantia. This role works remotely but will require occasional travel between local practices.

Job Responsibilities:

Employee Relations and HR Compliance

  • Supports the administration and execution of our people, talent, and culture programs; including but not limited to employee relations, performance management, talent, and training/development.
  • Supports managers with templates and guidance related to employee relations, performance management, feedback, and disciplinary actions.
  • Investigate and resolve complex employee relations issues, complaints, and allegations.
  • Assists with annual People Team initiatives such as: open enrollment, annual trainings, EEOC reporting, performance review, and audits etc.
  • Updates and maintains the internal HR site with up to date information.
  • Assists with payroll entry and compliance; including reviewing time and attendance, ensuring accurate deductions, garnishments, holiday pay, and entry of PTO.
  • Responds to and routes employee questions and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Supports and fosters a safe and healthy environment free of discrimination and harassment

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Facilitate the onboarding process with new hires; to include conducting new hire orientations
  • Conduct I-9 verifications for new hires, and maintain I-9 compliance
  • Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements and Advantia standards
  • Assist with offboarding tasks such as system updates, conducting exit interviews, and supplying information for metrics.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
  • Respond to employee verification requests as needed.
  • Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of employee information/updates including new hires, terminations, and personnel changes.
  • Assist the People Operations Manager with other special projects and audits as needed.

Skills and Experience

  • 3 years of progressive HR experience as an HR Generalist, HR Specialist, or HR Business Partner
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in business, HR, finance, a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with an HRIS (Paylocity experience ideal) and proficiency with Excel
  • Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to work several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, attentive to detail, and organization skills.
