Join Our Team as a Community Engagement Project Manager Skeo is an employee-focused consulting firm providing innovative, collaborative and multidisciplinary solutions to complex and pressing issues in environmental stewardship, social equity and economic opportunity.
Skeo is seeking one or more motivated, energetic and outgoing person(s) to join our team on a full-time basis as a project manager overseeing community engagement-based work at hazardous waste sites across the U.S.
All staff are expected to reflect Skeo’s operating principles: dignity, respect, compassion, integrity and accountability.
Some Responsibilities in This Role Include:Public Speaking and Quality Communication Across Clients and Communities: Successful applicants will work directly with clients in a proactive fashion. Applicants should be comfortable with and interested in working directly with community members, both in person and virtually. This may include coordinating and providing support for a wide range of in-person events such as meetings, workshops and training, as well as overseeing and developing community engagement documents such as fact sheets, brochures, reports and posters.
Project Management: Candidates should show they are detail-oriented, highly responsive, and capable of managing multiple projects with varying deadlines and overseeing others with work. Applicants should be able to multitask, work effectively on multiple teams and for multiple senior managers, maintain a positive attitude and have excellent communication skills.
Writing and Research: Ideal candidates for this mid-level position will have strong writing and research skills. This role will require communication in writing to clients and community members, which may vary in approach and voice depending on the audience. This candidate will need to be able to conduct research to inform and create fact sheets, reports, brochures and to handle general community inquiries.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
- Three to five years of experience managing projects or overseeing activities that translate to project management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Estimated travel of 20%-40%.
- Willingness to travel alone at times, including driving to and around new locations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong project management skills, including proven ability to approach projects and work tasks with tenacity and determination from start to finish.
- Degree(s) in environmental sciences, teaching, technical writing, communications, language, land-use planning or another relevant field.
- Experience working as a contractor is highly preferred.
- Experience running webinars or other virtual events on a variety of online platforms.
- Experience working with and in communities with a variety of people.
- Experience going door-to-door and supporting events in communities.
- Experience in facilitation and/or mediation in large or small group settings.
- Comfortable and able to work smoothly in potentially contentious public/community situations.
- Able to start full time within two weeks after hiring.
- Proficient in speaking and writing in a foreign language, especially Spanish.
