Purpose of the job

The purpose of an Operator A is to manufacture parts in a manner that meets all customer expectations for delivery and quality. It is also the expectation to actively look for and support continuous improvements in the product and process.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Assemble according to standard work:

• May perform routine and repetitive operations using small power/pneumatic tools, hand tools, and/or other machinery.
• Places product in designated packaging receptacles following standardized set-up. 
• Will participate in standardized work and all changes to standard work.

Participates in standard job rotations:

• May perform multiple different jobs over the course of one shift.
• Flexible and willing to move to different stations as the work and demand requires.

Performs rework:

• May rework a product if previous work was done incorrectly
• Performs required inspection of components and sub-assemblies
• Works according to in station process controls and signals the Team Coordinator at the first sign of abnormality.
• Reports all variances and/or improper operations.

Participates as a member of the Production Team:

• Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies.
• Attends appropriate team meetings. 
• Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas of lack of cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the Team Coordinator and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues effecting cohesiveness.
