Sebago Brewing is Hiring a Finance Manager Near Gorham, ME

Position Summary: 

The financial manager supports the business in all areas of finance, accounting, forecasting and overall financial analysis. The financial manager will have financial oversight over 4 restaurant locations and the brewery and will work closely with managers at each location to ensure effective processes are created and followed. 

Major Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work closely with corporate to ensure accurate monthly, quarterly and annual fiscal close at each location
  • Preparation of journal entries and maintain general ledger review and analysis
  • Maintain all appropriate balance sheet data
  • Works with managers and leadership to provide accurate reporting on a variety of data
  • Works closely with individuals across the company to field questions and provide support
  • Extensive modeling and forecasting revenues, expenses and other key financial metrics
  • Deliver clear and concise forecasting updates regularly to the leadership team
  • Provide structure and oversight to the company’s cost saving initiatives
  • Develop annual cost saving targets and track and present results on a monthly basis
  • Lead the capital expenditures planning process understanding requirements, timing and estimated completion dates
  • Develop a thorough understanding of our accounting software (RASI) and work with them on current processes and future system enhancements
  • Process/enter payables timely and accurately
  • Research and reconcile accounts including vendor statements as needed
  • Support in the preparation and review of the company’s annual operating budget
  • Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns
  • Analyze budget spend and provide insight on areas needing optimization
  • Implement and monitor internal controls and offer suggestions on best practices
  • Oversee commercial insurance policies and coverage
  • Assists with special projects, ad-hoc financial analysis, “what-if” scenarios and trend analysis for key P&L drivers
  • Assists with variance analysis to explain key changes to P&L
  • Coordinate and support yearly external audit

Knowledge and Skills

  • Minimum 5 years Financial management experience, preferably in a related industry
  • Bachelors degree in finance or accounting
  • Advanced degree of competency using excel
  • Restaurant, hospitality or brewery experience preferred
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated solid track record of success in previous roles
  • Dependable and highly motivated
  • Able to work 40-55 hours per week
  • Able to achieve successful results and meet goals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret financial documents and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups, guests, and employees.
  • ESOP experience not required but is a plus!
